A quiet email, every now and then.
I send a newsletter when I have something worth sending. Not on a schedule. Sometimes that means twice in a fortnight, when a piece of writing wants to find its first readers before it appears anywhere else. Sometimes it means weeks of quiet, when I'm deep inside something that's not yet ready to be read.
What you'll receive is what I'd want to receive from a writer whose work I follow.
A new essay, when there's one — usually adapted from something I'm working on, or written specifically for the people on this list. Notes on the languages I'm currently inside, when something in them is worth sharing. The occasional recommendation — a book I've been reading, a film I've been watching, a piece of music that's been keeping me company.
What you won't receive is everything else. No frequent emails. No marketing pitches. No content that doesn't earn its place in your inbox. The signal stays high because the noise stays low.
If that sounds like the kind of newsletter you'd actually read, I'd be glad to have you on the list. It's free to join. Unsubscribe anytime, no friction, no questions asked.
